If you’re looking for a clean, fresh start in your bedroom, I find that doing these three simple things make a big difference. Not only will you sleep better, but the place you get to come to at the end of the day is calm, tidy, and easy to fall asleep in.

Start with your bed

Change your bedding  – if you can’t remember the last time you bought new bedding, now is the time! (Keep reading for a great coupon code you can use today!)  If you don’t need new bedding, launder your bedding and make your bed.

Everyone loves crawling into a freshly made bed at the end of a long day. That clean, crisp sheet feeling is a little luxury. Saturday in our house (and if you follow my routine) is sheets and towels day. That means that all the sheets and towels get washed and the beds are re-made and ready for the coming week. When SOL Organics reached out to me to try their products, I was so excited to try out an organic linen company and let me tell you that they do not disappoint. Sleeping on organic cotton sheets is good for you and your family (that’s my #1 reason for choosing it) and it’s also so good for the environment.

If you haven’t changed what you’re sleeping on in awhile, now is the time to give yourself the gift of a good night’s sleep. The cotton feels different – it’s that quintessential crisp bedding feeling. My favorite thing about the SOL Organics products? They don’t wrinkle like regular sheets. This is just my observation and experience, but I think that pulling the sheets out of the dryer crisp and not wrinkled is pretty great.

Declutter your nightstand and dresser

Remove everything from your nightstand, dust and clean it and put the necessities back. Put hand lotion, lip balm, etc. in a cute container to corral these items and to keep it neat and tidy. Keep your current reads handy for your nighttime reading. If you have extra books or magazines lying around, put them on a bookshelf or in a different location. Keeping your nightstand cleaned off gives keeps your bedroom an uncluttered feeling and will give you a little peace of mind. Dust and polish your cleaned off space, move onto your dresser. Remove extra items, polish the surfaces and put back what you want to keep.

Vacuum the bedroom

Dust has a way of finding its way under the bed, baseboards, and corners in bedroom. Move any furniture that you can and vacuum under it. Use the crevice tool to get the corners. Vacuum vents, blinds, and draperies to get rid of all of that residual dust. Finish up by vacuuming the entire room vertically and then horizontally to capture every last dust particle.
