As we’re getting ready for Spring Clean with Me this week and prepping our supplies, tools, and laundry rooms, I thought it would be fun to share my 5 Must-Have Spring Cleaning Tools. Less is always more when it comes to cleaning and especially when it comes to spring cleaning. I also like to make sure that the tools I use for spring cleaning can also do double duty all year long.
Cleaning Cloths
I love a good cleaning cloth – they can be washed and reused and honestly, they clean better than wipes and paper towels, and are more eco-friendly and economical. Spring cleaning is about dusting, scrubbing, wiping – you need a great cleaning cloth to help you with that! I launched the new Cleaning Cloth Kits (pictured below) and have loved using them for cleaning. The kit comes in 2 different color and each kit has 3 different types of cloths – all-purpose, scrubbing, and polishing. You can see all the cloths + towels in the shop here.
Scrubbing Sponges
Spring cleaning is deep cleaning and deep cleaning calls for a great scrubbing tool. The new Foaming Scrubbing Sponges in the shop are quite the tool. At about $2 each, these washable, reusable sponges are great for deep cleaning surfaces when you’re spring cleaning, but you’ll find yourself using them for counters, stoves, doors, and just about anything that needs a little scrub or wipe. Find the new sponges here.
Extendable Duster
Keeping dust out of the house is imperative to a clean home, especially if you have allergies. Spring cleaning is THE time to do your heavy dusting. Use an extendable brush or duster to dust vents, light fixtures, corners, and edges. Here’s a link to one that’s similar to what I am using – I LOVE IT! The exact one pictured is no longer available 🙁 Another option is to use a large floor/wall washer on walls to dust and clean them quickly and easily and it also doubles as a quick floor washer. I bought these cotton terry cloth mop cloths for floors and walls too – they work great!
Vacuum Cleaner with Attachments
If you don’t have a vacuum cleaner with attachments now, don’t worry about it, but when it’s time to get a new one, make sure you find one with attachments. You’ll use the attachments all year long for cleaning under appliances and furniture, vacuuming furniture, vents, light fixtures, window treatments, and so much more!
Steam Cleaner
A steam cleaner isn’t a necessity but it will definitely help with deep cleaning and sanitizing. I purchased this one over a year ago and after a thorough testing and vetting throughout the home, I can say it’s one of my favorite cleaners and it replaces a couple other deep cleaning products.
