When I print your cleaning sheets borax, lemon, vinegar and baking soda (which I love the bright colors) I am having a problem with the gray lettering in boxes 3 & 9. Is there any way I can make those dark?

Post authorTry printing them in better or best mode and if that doesn’t work let me know 🙂

I love cleaning with lemons/lemon juice/or lemon oil! Something I like to do to clean my coffee pot is squirt about a 1/2 tablespoon of lemon juice in your coffee pot, add about a tablespoon of sea salt and swish it around until it’s clean and rinse well {so you’re coffee doesn’t end up with a lemon flavor 😉 }

Can lemon be used in cleaning stains of oil and other dirt that remains for a long time ? As we know homemade cleaning products is best for cleaning house and other appliances.

I use vinegar and lemon sometimes. For the removal of glue stains, you’ll want to apply the mixture of water and vinegar to the area. Heat up the answer if the stains are stubborn. Eliminate the answer away following about 15 minutes. Once in a year i hire Commercial cleaning service Toronto.

I’m interested to know how long cleaners made with lemons last. I need to make some glass cleaner for my kids’ bathroom, but it will take a couple of months to use it up. Will cleaner made with lemon juice last that long or will it go funky?
Becky Says
Post authorUsually just a week or two, but if you put it in the fridge you might extend it a little bit.

Hi Becky – great site & thanks for these recipes! On a related note, how long could one keep your anti-soap-scum paste (the bicarbonate of soda, salt & vinegar one on the bicarb sheet)? Tried in on our shower this morning & it worked a treat but ideally I’d like to make up a big pot & just grab as needed so as to reduce the barrier to cleaning aspect of making it fresh (lazy, I know, but just trying to work around my own inadequacies!)

Post authorIt should last at least a couple weeks – mix up a little pot and give it a whirl!

Hi Becky,
Your recipes may be our Christmas gifts this year – my husband keeps midget lemon trees in our tiny greenhouse space but had to stray from organic methods due to intractable bug problem that was going to kill the trees. The trees survived and made lots of lemons, but the systemic poison used on the trees means we can’t eat the lemons. So they will become cleaning products now. I’ve a new use for lemons – I used cut halves to acid etch concrete walls to make them take paint better, by dipping the lemon halves into powdered citric acid I got in bulk from Whole Foods before rubbing the juice on the concrete wall with the lemon half (I rinsed with water after I’d coated whole wall with citric acid and let dry before painting). It worked reasonably well at etching the concrete, better than liquid muriatic acid does which is used to etch concrete floors but would have run off of the walls, and it was safer for me – I used rubber gloves, but didn’t have to fear inhaling acid fumes or chlorine gas as I would have risked with the muriatic acid.
