Creating a Cleaning Closet with the Home Collection

Creating a Cleaning Closet with the Home Collection via Clean Mama

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post from the Post-it® Brand– I received products from the Home Collection and compensation in return for this post and promotion. All opinions (as always) are my own. Read my full disclosure here.

I was challenged to come up with a unique solution for using the new Home Collection by Post-it® Brand, Scotch® Brand and Command™ Brands. I just love this Home Collection product line – you can find additional information on Post-it.com. You can also see an overview of all the products in this post.

I’m using these products to update the cleaning supply cupboard in my mudroom. I love how it turned out!

Products Used to Create a Cleaning Closet with the Post-It Home Collection via Clean Mama

The space that I used is my cleaning supply cupboard in our mudroom. This is the main space that I store larger sizes of cleaning supplies and ingredients I use in my cleaners. I wanted to create a little station to keep notes, lists, and a couple tools. The back of the door is a perfect spot because it’s unused space that can be quickly turned into a useable and functional area. This is a great tip when you are organizing any space – use the back of the door – cupboard and closet doors provide a great space for adding a little functionality. The Home Collection has so many great products that can turn any space into something a little more organized and functional.

I started with the Command™ Clear Caddies – one small and one medium, a small Post-it® View and Go Pocket, Post-it® Dry Erase Grip Tile, and a Post-it® List Note. I planned out the space and decided where everything would look the best.

Command Caddy application via Clean Mama

It’s important to follow the directions exactly when applying the products, this will ensure that the area has been prepped for the product and it will stay where you want it to for as long as you want it to stay. The Command™ Clear Caddies went up first. It’s also important to make sure that the organizer is in an accessible area for removal by ensuring the tabs can stretch 12-15 inches (depending on the size of the organizer) upon removal. Here are the steps I followed:

  • Clean surface with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and let it dry. (Do not use household cleaners.)
  • Remove the blue liner. Place the adhesive strip within the guidelines on the back of the organizer and press adhesive. Repeat with the second strip. Make sure that the tabs are accessible for future removal.
  • Remove black liners.
  • Reaching inside the organizer, press firmly onto the surface. Press along the length of each strip for 30 seconds each. Wait an hour before use.

Command Grip Tile Application via Clean Mama

Next up was the Post-it® Dry Erase Grip Tile. I love this piece – you can write little notes on it AND slide paper in all the sides. Think coupons, little notes and lists, school papers. Here are the steps I followed:

  • Clean surface with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and let it dry. (Do not use household cleaners.)
  • Remove the liners from both strips.
  • Position the tile on the wall and press firmly for 30 seconds.
  • Grab the tile at the bottom and peel off surface. DO NOT peel straight toward you to remove. Press the strip and all 3 areas for 30 seconds each.
  • Wait an hour to mount the tile. Press fasteners firmly until they click. Reposition if it isn’t level.

Easy application of the List Notes - just press in place via Clean Mama

As soon as the caddies and tile were in place, I positioned the Post-it® View and Go Pocket and the Post-it® List Note where it made most sense in the space.

Once everything was in place and secure I started to add the cleaning tools and guides to the space. I use the small Command™ Clear Caddy for dry erase markers and the medium Command™ Clear Caddy for a couple cleaning recipe tools (funnel and measuring spoons). The Post-it® Dry Erase Grip Tile is perfect for jotting down a quick note and I can slip a list or coupon in the grip on the side. I use the small Post-it® View and Go Pocket to keep cleaning guides, quick recipes, and other cleaning-related papers. It’s the perfect solution for this space. I love how the Post-it® List Note is perfect for quick notes and I love that it has 3 sections – perfect for multiple list-makers like myself.

I love how everything turned out – it has added some much-needed function to my cleaning closet.
