DAY 1: The 7-Day SIMPLY CLEAN Kick Start Challenge
If you’ve wanted to start a cleaning routine but haven’t known how or where to start, The 7-Day SIMPLY CLEAN Kick Start Challenge is for you. If you need a little encouragement and help sticking with a cleaning routine, you’ll love this challenge as well. I started developing my cleaning routine for myself almost 20 years ago and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tweaked and changed it, but it’s the one thing that remains the same in the midst of a busy life. I hope you try it out and see how it works for you!
This challenge is straight from my best-selling book Simply Clean – grab the book for even more!
The following is an excerpt from Chapter 3 in Simply Clean:
(SUNDAY) DAY 1: DECLUTTERING 101
One day might not be enough to declutter your whole home, but I think you’ll surprise yourself with how much you can get done in a short period of time. One or two bags of clutter removed from your home is enough – the point is that you are moving forward and making progress. That’s today’s assignment – just get rid of some stuff! Stop worrying about perfection and Pinterest-worthy spaces. I also find that putting items that need to be put away in a laundry basket is helpful too. Once you’ve filled up a basket, put those items away – don’t forget to get other family members involved! This is your home – get rid of some stuff that’s weighing you down and get ready for the week!
Here’s how the challenge is going to work – every day for 7 days (July 30-August 5) you’ll have an assigned task to complete – you’ll see that the tasks semi-mirror my cleaning routine. Once you’ve completed the 7 tasks, you’ll be ready to continue with the Simply Clean Method as you move forward. I’ll be sharing the daily tasks on social media and on the blog. Want to join in and get a jumpstart on your cleaning routine and bring a little order to your home? Order Simply Clean and follow along!

Do I have to purchase something to do this challenge?

Post authorAbsolutely not! The challenge is from my book and all the info is FREE 🙂 Of course if you’d like to purchase the book it will enhance the challenge and your cleaning routine moving forward.

Does anyone know if this is “refreshed” every week? As I arrive here it’s most of the way through Sunday. Besides which I’d like to spend a few days on decluttering. We’re getting ready to move soon.
Thanks!!!

Post authorYou can pin or save the web address and come back to it anytime to go through the challenge – next week I’ll have different content 🙂

Okay, took your advice and attacked the paper pile under my desk. Filed all the current bills, statements, etc in accordion files and have a bag of old stuff ready to put in the shredder. Stuff that didn’t have secure info went straight into the recycling bin. What a difference! Ready for day 2 now!

Post authorYay! Way to go Trish!

Quick question – If we’re just starting your program with the 7 day challenge, should also be doing the daily and weekly tasks or do we just focus on the challenge of the day?
and regarding what I wrote above:
This evening when I found your site for the first time (I started listening to your book this morning) I thought it was too late in the day for me to join you for the beginning of the 7 day challenge – BUT while my husband made dinner (yes, I am fortunate) I purged a TON of old makeup, hair products that are not right for my new blue do, bodywash I had purchased (then found I didn’t like the scent as much as I thought – but COULDN’T toss because, you know, I had PAID for it!), and soaps I had been given as gifts and would never have chosen for myself. Feels great! I’m going to move forward with the 7 day challenge. Every single bit if work I do will be something that needs to be done before we sell the house anyway, so none of it will be wasted, no matter what order I do it in.

Post authorHooray! That’s amazing Sarah 🙂 If you have never done the daily tasks before, just focus on getting the challenge task accomplished – IF you are able to you can most definitely do the daily tasks (make beds, clutter, laundry, check floors, counters). Happy cleaning and moving!
