Need a quick fix for cleaning the toilet? Or just a quick freshening up? Drop one of these toilet cleaning tablets in and let it sizzle away. Give it a scrub or just let it sizzle, then flush.

I wanted to reformulate my original DIY Toilet Bowl Bombs using what I use to clean toilets – this just simplifies the delivery into tablet form. So it’s just a drop and scrub solution instead of a sprinkle, squirt and scrub solution. Here’s how I naturally clean toilets if you haven’t seen this post.

DIY Toilet Tablets

Ingredients:
1 cup Oxygen Whitener (whitens and cleans)
1/2 cup citric acid (cleans & adds fizz)
1-2 tablespoons castile soap (I used peppermint)
15 drops essential oil  (optional, I used the Fresh Home Blend)

Oxygen Whitener / Essential Oil

Tools:
scoop – I used a #16
quarter sheet baking sheet
jar for storage
bowl & measuring cups

Directions:
In a bowl, slowly pour Oxygen Whitener and citric acid to avoid a billow of powder. Stir to combine the Oxygen Whitener and citric acid. Add the essential oils, combining them well, breaking up clumps as you stir. Slowly add the castile soap – expanding a bit is normal. Stir until the mixture is a thick and almost crumbly paste. If the mixture isn’t coming together, drizzle a little bit of water into the mixture until it comes together and it holds together when you form it.

Scoop the powder with the large scoop, press against the side of the bowl to compact the mixture and turn out onto a sheet pan. Repeat until the mixture is used up – you should get about 6 large tablets. Let dry for 12-24 hours. When the tablets are dry (they should be very hard), remove them from the tray and store them in a glass jar with a lid.

Use one per toilet for a quick clean or an in-between-cleaning freshening up.
