Everyday Tip : Save on Space – Take Food Out of Boxes + Bags

Sometimes a quick and simple tip that can make the mundane a little easier or make your life a little better makes a BIG difference. This is a new series here on the blog where I’ll be sharing simple tips, finds, and suggestions to make life a little easier. I’ll be sharing these tips regularly on the blog and on Instagram– make sure you’re following along! See all the Everyday Tips here.

This tip is so simple I’m almost embarrassed to share it but I know that there are some of you that haven’t thought of this so I thought I’d go ahead and give it a share!

We don’t do cold cereal every day but the kids do like it – we usually do Kashi or Trader Joe’s.  I’ll have the kids grab the bin and I’ll put the bowls, milk and spoons on the table. Makes for a super easy breakfast that they can get themselves.

Simply remove bags from packaged cereal or cracker boxes, fold over the top of the bag and use a clip to close. Place the pages in a bin or a basket to stand the bags up and ‘file’ them. This keeps boxes out of the pantry, takes up less space, and you can see exactly what is left in each bag.

I clip extra clips on the side of the bin when they aren’t in use. This keeps them handy and ready for a new bag – no clip searching.
