This little hack is simple and maybe you’re already doing it, but if you aren’t it’ll take your toast making to the next level for less than $10. I’ve had this little toast tongs on our toaster for at least 10 years. It’s super convenient, can be hand washed with warm water and dish soap and keeps fingers out of the toaster.
There are all different types of wooden tongs – I prefer one with a magnet so it can be stored on the side of the toaster.
This is the exact one I have – it’s from Williams-Sonoma and currently not in stock until March. Here’s one that’s similar on Amazon. Here’s a 2-pack, here’s a 2-pack without a magnet and another one with a dark finish. Look for one that’s food safe and uses no finish or a non-toxic finish.
Curious about our toaster? It’s the Breville Bit More Toaster. I like that it has a small counter footprint and a long slot. Bonus, it works great!

Love it! I have a toaster oven devil that pulls out the tray so you don’t toast your hand trying to grab your item!! Thanks for the tip!

This is a great idea & perfect solution! I have toaster tongs but if I keep them in the drawer no one thinks to use them and they take their chances. If I keep them at the toaster they look sloppy laying on top or in front. I happen to have good craft magnets so I’m going to super glue one on today! Thanks for this tip!
BTW My sink is clean. ????

Toast Tongs are one of my favorite things. My grandpa has them. At first I thought what is on his toaster, why. Now I have them too.
I love them I thought they were an older thing. I love my grandpa so much. I got mine from pampered chef, there’s no magnet. I could fix that no problem
