Everyday Tips : Furniture Markers
Sometimes a quick and simple tip that can make the mundane a little easier or make your life a little better makes a BIG difference. This is a new series here on the blog where I’ll be sharing simple tips, finds, and suggestions to make life a little easier. I’ll be sharing these tips regularly on the blog and on Instagram – make sure you’re following along!
Today’s tip is a little product that I use all.the.time. I actually keep it in my furniture care caddy so it’s handy on dusting day (Tuesday). The super helpful little product? Furniture markers. Get a set that has a variety of colors and while you’re dusting or cleaning, use them to touch up any little dings and dents that you see. I use them on furniture and cabinets – you can even blend the colors on the furniture if the paint color isn’t an exact match.
Why is this a good tip? You’ll correct those little imperfections while you see them instead of trying to remember to fix them sometime. If you don’t want to fix them while you’re dusting or cleaning, put a little painter’s tape on the scratch or mark and come back to it later. Try it!
A couple things that might make your furniture touching-up a little more enjoyable:
- the furniture markers I use – less than $6
- that cute caddy that I keep my furniture care products in
- my favorite dusting products are here on my Cleaning Favs page

Any tips for getting rid of pale heat marks on wood furniture. Looks kind of like a water stain but comes from putting something hot down?

Thanks for posting the markers you use! I couldn’t find good crayons at my home stores and ordered the markers you suggested!

Brilliant! From right where I’m sitting, I can see three pieces of furniture that NEED those markers! I had no idea they came in so many different colors. And I love the idea of having them handy while doing regular cleaning. I’m terrible about procrastinating, and this makes it easy enough to take care of right away. Thanks for the great idea!
