It’s the Little Things #109

Happy Friday and December too! We spent some time after Thanksgiving pulling out all our Christmas decorations and slowly getting everything just so. My daughter and I especially love this part of the season and look forward to the decorating every year. Pretty soon I will start my master list of must-make cookies and treats and start planning ahead to make the week of Christmas as calm as possible. When I write these posts, my hope is to share something unexpected and new, whether it is a recipe, project, playlist or simple decorating inspiration. This week I am excited to share a delightful sugar scrub, a comfort food soup recipe, a beautiful little tree and my favorite holiday cookbooks. Here’s a link to all of the posts in this series.

I remember many hours spent coloring salt with chalk and carefully layering it in random jars and bottles as a child. Maybe that is part of the appeal with these beauties. Regardless, wouldn’t they make a fun gift or project? Love this idea for DIY Sand Art Sugar Scrub from Sugar and Cloth.

Have you ever made your own tomato soup? Trust me on this one- it is so much better and heartier than what you may be used to in a can. It is the perfect dinner to serve with an ooey-gooey grilled cheese and is a winner with everyone in my family.

I am absolutely in love with this adorable little tree from Inspired by Charm. The vintage ornaments, cookie cutters, and colorful lights are absolutely precious and have got me thinking how I could recreate this in our home. Take some time to peruse this feed and enjoy all the eye candy.
