Happy December! I have some fun finds for you this week a little Christmas decor, a fun new Christmas cookbook, a winner appetizer, a lovely pantry inspired kitchen and some Clean Mama updates (read: don’t miss the Homekeeping Society Annual Sale next week!). I hope this post gives you some inspiration and encourages you too!
We started putting out Christmas past weekend, but didn’t get very far. I prefer a slow and steady approach with the ultimate goal of being done by this weekend. My daughter and I do an annual Christmas event in our town the first weekend of December and that always gets me inspired to finish it all up. How about you? Have you had everything out since November or are you still decorating or maybe haven’t started? Simple and sweet is my motto this year.
I’m most excited about the mantle – I was inspired by Magnolia to put some new candlesticks on the mantel. I’ll share on Instagram as I finish it up. I grabbed these candlesticks at Pottery Barn, I love the varied heights.
I made the Marinated Olives and Feta appetizer from What’s Gaby Cooking for Thanksgiving and it was delicious! It was super easy to put together and a hit with everyone except for the non-olive fan in our house ????. I used these olives and they were sooo good. After having these olives on a restaurant cheese plate recently and using them in this recipe, they are now the only green olive variety I’ll buy.
I loved peeking at this vintage pantry and the new kitchen it inspired. There’s so much to be inspired by in the pantry and the kitchen. I love the contrast in color and vintage and new. Just lovely!
I grabbed this cookbook, Christmas Baking on a whim and it’s delightful! So many delicious looking recipes – I can’t wait to give some of them a try. First up: Vanilla Bean Chocolate Fudge and the Shortbread.
Be sure to check out the gift guides and a couple Clean Mama updates you won’t want to miss!
Save the dates! Lots of new things coming up – head to this post for more info and to get on the email list if you’re not already on it. There’s a brand-new Little Letter email that’s been coming out on the 1st and 15th of each month.
Markdowns! If you missed the Sale of the Year last week in the shop, I left those markdowns in place and will through the weekend – you can still grab the Homekeeping Planners at $9 off and grab the discounts on the cleaning recipe labels, hand and dish soap, all-purpose spray, notebooks and more! Go here to shop.
The big news: The Annual Homekeeping Society Sale is coming on Monday….if you’ve been on the fence or a monthly member, you won’t want to miss this sale! The discount is HUGE and so are the bonuses! 2022 is all new – I can’t wait to share it with you!

We used to do the old-fashioned thing, and not decorate until Christmas Eve. Then my kids got bigger and we started doing it earlier, but not until after my son’s birthday on December 15. We have a new kitten this year, so I don’t know that we will decorate at all other than a wreath on the door because he gets into everything. Any ideas on how to fight that are welcome!

My grandmother used to put orange peels out around her decorations because she read that cats don’t like the smell. That worked for her and the cat stayed away from the Christmas decorations, but the con was that she then had orange peels all over the place.
