It’s been a few weeks since we’ve had an It’s the Little Things post and I’m happy to be back and full of New Year inspiration! Today I’m sharing a new pair of shoes (and jeans) that I’m loving, a smoothie add-in perfect for this time of the year, a bathroom that I can’t stop thinking about, and a simple challenge with a freebie printable that’s just right for the new year!
I’m LOVING these Sperry platform sneakers – they slip on, look cute and casual, and they’re super comfy. Grab them here. If you’re looking for a great pair of jeans in a not-too-dark, not-too-light wash, these Wit & Wisdom jeans are a new favorite! Grab them here.
My sister recommended this over a New Year’s visit and after trying it in a smoothie at her house, I immediately added it to my Amazon order. I add a scoop to smoothies to add a nutritional boost with açaí, beets, and other potent ingredients. If you’re into smoothies, check it out. I also grabbed the green one too with spirulina and wheatgrass. They add a little extra flavor and pack in some nutritional value in a little scoop. Find them both here.
I spotted this bathroom on Ivy Brook Lane’s Instagram and just love the mix of finishes, the painted wainscoting and the armoire for the towels is one that I’d design a bathroom over. The design is from W Design Collective – all sources can be found on their page.

How do you ‘minimize’ things down like you do with a family of 4 and visitors monthly. I couldn’t imagine 12 pieces of silverware (per piece like fork, spoon, etc.). We’d be out of silverware in two or three days.

Post authorWith a family of 5 and frequent guests, I find that serving for 12 is great for us but we will do 2 loads of dishes in a day if needed.

Thank you for introducing us to W Design Collective. I also love the look of that bathroom and have saved the inspiration photos. I have enough space to do that…just need to sell hubby on it. Did you see the mirrors were actually medicine cabinets! Catch up day today (Friday)…at least I’m learning.
Have a happy weekend,
Carol

You seem to have stopped offering your quarterly housekeeing section. What have you done with it?? It was my favourite. if you don’t want to offer it dated, how about undated? It was SO useful & I can’t order paper items, because I’
m in Europe, so how about brining back for those who can only down load??
Kind regards to you & keep up the good work!

Yay! New light wash jeans. I have two pair Wit and Wisdom jeans that I love so I just ordered these.
That bathroom is about 100 times the size of ours! We did spiff it up by painting the mirror frame and cabinet which were yucky 80s yellow oak to a deep Java Gel.
We have the coolest silverware in my opinion. Remember Betty Crocker box tops? I collected them in the 80s and have been filling out the holes…usually caused by lunches taken to work and fork tossed! We use twice as many dinner forks as soup spoons so I just increased to 16 for the forks. 12 of everything else works fine. It’s the two of us but we eat three sit down meals a day. I run the dishwasher every night even if it’s not full because it uses less water, hotter water, and invariably if I skip a day there’s no room left on top because we use on average of 4 mugs -coffee in am and tea in pm. My dishwasher rebels if too full.

Becky did you order your usual size on the sneakers? They are cute!

Post authorI’m usually an 8.5 or 9 and I went with a 9, so I’d say that they are true to size 🙂
