It’s the Little Things #17
Happy Friday! Here are my favorites from the week with you – it might be a quote, a print, what I’m reading, a favorite podcast, a playlist, a recipe, a helpful tip, a cleaning product, or something I added to our home. Basically if it’s something little that I feel is shareable or if it’s something I’d bring up to a friend over coffee or on the phone, I’m probably going to share it with you here. Here’s a link to all of the posts in this series.
I finally got mums for the front door – do you do mums? I love the pop of color they add and that they instantly transform the front door to look like fall. I put a picture on my Instagram Stories this weekend – follow me if you don’t already 😉
Last week I told you that I got an Instant Pot (this one) and I’m here to tell you I made applesauce and it was delicious. While I was making the applesauce I thought of a couple little things to share with you – see this is why I do this. I use this fruit and veggie spray from Rebel Green – love the convenience and safety of the product.
Applesauce is simple to make regardless of how it’s made – on the stove, crockpot, or Instant Pot. Peel and core the apples, add water, I didn’t add any sugar to the apples (but you can), and just a couple teaspoons of cinnamon. When I make applesauce I usually use a couple varieties of apples but this time I only had Honey Crisp and the sauce turned out really good with plenty of apple-depth. I always add a teaspoon or so of vanilla extract after it’s cooked – yum! You can see my Instant Pot board by following me on Pinterest here.
What have you been enjoying this week? Any little things to share?

I love my Instant Pot! But I suggest you have separate gaskets for savory meals and desserts.
When you make meals, the gasket takes on a strong odor from all the intense flavors that come out of that meal!
You wouldn’t want rice pudding taking on the flavor of a stew.

What a lovely post. The thought if making applesauce the old fashioned way seemed…well, not for me. But this, I think sounds easy. 😎 I just picked up Sal Suds and using it for a produce rinse. How would you compare the two? Thanks.

Post authorThanks Teresa! I’d recommend castile soap instead of Sal Suds for produce – but I prefer the spray and clean ease of the Rebel Green 🙂

Just curious if you ever tried making your own vegetable/fruit cleaner?
