It’s the Little Things #43
Happy Friday! Here are my favorites from the week with you – it might be a quote, a print, what I’m reading, a favorite podcast, a playlist, a recipe, a helpful tip, a cleaning product, or something I added to our home. Basically if it’s something little that I feel is shareable or if it’s something I’d bring up to a friend over coffee or on the phone, I’m probably going to share it with you here. Here’s a link to all of the posts in this series.

As the weather improves and we’re spending more time outside, maybe you’re like me and looking for some clever patio and deck storage ideas. This article from Better Homes & Gardens has 16 great ideas to try. I love this one in particular – it would be great for a garage too!
I loved this article from Remodelista on Remodeling 101 – The Ultimate Guide to Shiplap, Beadboard, and V-Groove Paneling. A good read on definitions and suggestions as to where these different finishes work.
I love seeing how other people do things – their methods, favorite products, tools, tips. This post from Simple Bites was really fun – How to Move Towards a Zero Waste Kitchen. Isn’t this cabinet darling? You can see some of my tips on this here as well.
What have you been enjoying this week? Any little things to share?

We have been growing sunflowers!! A little thing but very encouraging to know the dry, warm weather is coming…soon. It’s exciting to see the plants take shape and get to see the whole life cycle up close. The first thing my children do in the morning is run down and check their sunflowers.🌻

I bought my mother’s day present to me – a new airco. I have never had one before and last year, the weather was stifling. This year, I will be so comfortable in my little home. It’s a bit heavy (32 kgs) and is on wheels so hoping I can move this myself to the bedroom (so buying two new aircos won’t be necessary).
I also buy in bulk and notice a huge difference in my grocery bills. Also love the book by Karrie Trumann on homemade freezer meals. Her balsamic pork ribs are to die for.
Also, I am so happy with the homemade products. The only commercial one I still have at home is an oven cleaner. Once it’s used, I will make my own.

I have really enjoyed food prepping, and making my own cleaning supplies. I am still playing with the dishwasher detergent recipe, I can’t seem to get rid of the cloudiness left behind, even with vinegar as a rinse aid. I have found new Pyrex with old prints to replace my plastic food storage containers. Working on fabric beeswax and silicone bags next. Thanks for all the great ideas
