It’s the Little Things #6
Happy Friday! Here are a few little things I’m enjoying this week. I’m going to share some favorites from the week with you – it might be a quote, a print, what I’m reading, a favorite podcast, a playlist, a recipe, a helpful tip, a cleaning product, or something I added to our home. Basically if it’s something little that I feel is shareable or if it’s something I’d bring up to a friend over coffee or on the phone, I’m probably going to share it with you here. I hope you enjoy the little things – they’ll be coming to you weekly over the summer (maybe longer). Here’s a link to all of the posts in this series.
I saw these at Target while school supply shopping with the kids this week. They are dual tipped highlighters – perfect for color coding in a planner. I can’t wait to use them in the new Clean Mama Planners – coming soon! Speaking of Clean Mama Home – I have a handful of items on sale if you are interested AND the cleaning labels are back in stock!
Have you ever heard of a butter keeper? We used to use one growing up and I think that they might be making a comeback. This one is darling – of course, it’s aqua but there are lots of other colors to choose from too.
Haven’t heard of a butter keeper? They keep butter cool but spreadable without refrigeration. Pretty neat, right?
This last little thing is a new snack I’ve been enjoying. Have you heard of Rx Bars? They are a whole food protein bars – I go back and forth between them and these Larabars as a post-workout snack. But this new almond /protein butter from Rx is insanely good. I think some people just eat it by squeezing it into their mouth – kind of weird – but I have been occasionally dipping apples in it as an afternoon snack. It’s SO good. Hopefully it’ll come out in a jar too!
What have you been enjoying this week? Any little things to share?

I bought some soap for my grandchildren – one smells of roses and the other, of strawberries. Also, I just love pretty handtowels and like to bless my home with little gifts like this.

I was gifted many embroidered items .I go to the trouble to care for them, which includes ironing!

Will the Sweese Butter Crock work for dairy-free butter that melts to liquid when left out? We buy ours at Trader Joe’s.
Do you put fresh cold water in it each morning?
b r Says
Post authorIt’s made for butter, I’m thinking that dairy free wouldn’t work.

Those Midliner highlighters are amazing! I bought mine through Amazon a while back and they are the perfect highlighter. I will have to try the RX butters; I enjoy their salted chocolate bar with coffee in the morning. I have been enjoying your cleaning schedule and blog this week (new here!) and pushing my son on his new swing set.

I used to work for a family who used a butter crock like you mention…I had never seen one before, so it took me a while to figure out what it was! One of my “little things” this week has been making my own witch hazel extract for household use (e.g. in my homemade makeup remover). I’ve also been stocking up on Ball jars for canning goods from my farmer’s market and backyard. Thanks for sharing your “little things!”

I’ve been hunting for a pretty container to store coffee filters on the kitchen counter by the coffee maker. Is the butter keeper large enough in diameter to hold coffee filters?
b r Says
Post authorI’m thinking it wouldn’t be large enough but I don’t know the size of you filters 🙂

I love my butter bell!! My niece told me about them 2 yrs ago so I ordered one. My friend then bought one afternoon seeing mine but she has had trouble with her butter falling out of it. I have never had that issue.

Ever since I was a kid I have loved shopping for school supplies and markers/highlighters were always at the top of the list. I’ll be on the lookout these for my “grandson”. (I’ll let him choose one or two and the rest can be for me! Lol!)

We have been using a butter keeper for years. They are very popular in France. Mine was very expensive. I think I paid ar
about $40 several years ago at a gourmet kitchen store. Yours is very affordable.

I think I’m addicted to those RX bars! Anytime my friend goes to the store, she grabs coupons for me and lets me know when they are on sale. Will definitely have to try the protein butter! Thanks for the “little things”!!
