It’s the Little Things #86
Happy Friday! It’s time for some little things from this week. My hope is that these posts spark a little something with you, give you an idea or solve a problem for you too. It might be a quote, a print, what I’m reading, a favorite podcast, a playlist, a recipe, a helpful tip, a cleaning product, or something I added to our home. Basically if it’s something little that I feel is shareable or if it’s something I’d bring up to a friend over coffee or on the phone, I’m probably going to share it with you here. Here’s a link to all of the posts in this series.
Mark your calendars! Next Wednesday, June 17th the Clean Mama Summer Collection will be available (with a sale) – that means that the *new* Homekeeping Planner will be available too!
Another week, another new appliance – if you’re new here, you know we had to replace the stove and refrigerator a couple weeks ago and this week, it was the washer and dryer. And a not so fun replacement, a sump pump after a bit of a basement flood. The dryer needed a new part that was well over half the cost of a new dryer so we decided to replace them both. I know that I have been singing the praises of front load washing machines for years, but when I saw the cubic feet on this top loader – 5 cubic feet, I decided to make the switch. So far, we’re loving it! My biggest concern was that my big kids wouldn’t be able to reach their clothes at the bottom of the washing machine, but they can. I researched and chose this LG set for our little laundry room. I’ll share more about that soon, but I thought you might find it interesting, maybe? ps – none of the appliances have been sponsored, that would have been awesome 😉
I wrote this post mid-March, but with summer upon us, I know that we need to revisit our routines and chore charts a bit. Maybe you do too? Head to this post – it shares how to SHOW your kids to clean, gives you some ideas for age-appropriate chores, and there’s a link to this free printable chore chart too.
My love for office supplies and pens runs deep – have you seen these new brush pens from Pentel? I found them on JetPens – a favorite shop of mine for sure!

What have you been enjoying this week? Any little things to share?

Hi,
Our dryer died in February. We replaced it with the same LG dryer in your picture. We have only had it since February, but we LOVE IT!! My only complaint is with the inside light, wish it would automatically go on whenever the door is opened like it did in my old unit. So if I don’t get back to the laundry soon enough, I have to press the power button to get the light to go on, no biggie. Our washer is still going strong, it’s a Maytag top load HE with a glass lid much like this LG washer, we love it too and have had it over 10 years, but If we ever have to replace it, I’ll be getting this LG washer too. Enjoy your new toys!!

We also just got a fridge today! Moved into a new place and have been waiting and waiting for the fridge to be delivered… won’t be taking it for granted anymore!

I have the same washer and dryer. I got them last October when I had to replace mine. So far they are GREAT! I am short so I have to really stretch to reach everything in the washer. But I figure it is good exercise.
Thanks for all the good suggestions and ideas in your blogs.

We have the same LG set and I love it! 6 months in and I would absolutely buy it again.

It would be nice for you to compare your front loader vs. Top loader experience. And plisses and minuses of them.

My new “Diplomat” fountain pen (in fuchia!) just came in and I’m loving how easy and smooth it is to write with, AND I can refill it and not throw anything away!!! I’m so thankful for the options available to us these days.
