It’s the Little Things #99
Happy Friday! It’s time for some little things from this week. My hope is that these posts spark a little something with you, give you an idea or solve a problem for you too. It might be a quote, a print, what I’m reading, a favorite podcast, a playlist, a recipe, a helpful tip, a cleaning product, or something I added to our home. Basically if it’s something little that I feel is shareable or if it’s something I’d bring up to a friend over coffee or on the phone, I’m probably going to share it with you here. Here’s a link to all of the posts in this series.
Besides her food photos being some of the best that I have seen, Tiegan from Half Baked Harvest rounded up some of her favorite fall recipes from her blog. I own her latest cookbook Half Baked Harvest Super Simple and love her creative and flavorful recipes. I am looking forward to making the Instant Pot Pesto Zuppa Toscana and Broccoli Cheddar Chicken and Rice Casserole.
I have been a fan of Myquillyn Smith and her blog The Nester, for years. I love her style and her centered approach to decorating and homemaking. Her new book Welcome Home focuses on decorating your home for the seasons with a less-is-more mentality. I highly recommend this one!
I’m hoping to squeeze in a quick batch of vanilla extract today. Have you tried it? It’s ridiculously easy and so delicious. I make a big batch and gift it – if you make some soon it’ll be ready for holiday gift giving. You can see how I make it here.
If you have been following me on Instagram this week, you probably caught all sorts of sneak peeks of the 2021 Homekeeping Planners. I am really excited for this one and am in love with the new cover options and layout.
Pre-orders end September 30th – make sure you take advantage of free shipping on your preorder with the code PREORDER. You can go to this post to see more about the pre-orders and lots of details on the planners.
What have you come across this week that has inspired you?

Dropping a quick note to say that I look forward to your Friday email and find so much joy in “the little things” blog posts. I’ve been using your home cleaning calendar for several months now and it’s also become a source of joy AND sanity for me.
Thanks for all you do!

Becky, I love your posts.
Love the idea of vanilla! I use a lot of it! It’s expensive and after watching a streaming video on how it is made I understand why vanilla is so expensive. I’ve got my ingredients and ordered the bottles, will start vanilla as soon as bottles arrive. Come on Amazon!
Also I ordered Mrs. Smith’s book. (Sorry can’t spell that first name.)What a great book. I’ve incorporated some of her ideas already.
Thank you so much for your recommendations.
