Kitchen Month – Quick Prep Meal Starters to Have in the Freezer – FREE printables
Yesterday we talked about Family Dinner Favorites and how listing out some winner dinners can save lots of planning time in the kitchen. Another huge time saver for me and the key to getting dinner on the table in a hurry is having a couple steps already prepped and ready to go. Today I’m sharing my favorite Quick Prep Meal Starters to Have in the Freezer. I try to have most of these on hand and stocked in the freezer. Some of them are pre-bought (like the fish) and just stored in the freezer, but I know it’s in the freezer for a quick and nutritious meal. My must-have meal starters? Marinated chicken, ground beef and turkey (browned and seasoned with salt and pepper), frozen onions, muffins and quick breads. (Here’s a post from way back about how I prep-ahead proteins in under an hour.)
I’ve made this in 3 versions for you – aqua, black + white, and brights – you can visit the links to get your free copy!

Hello, I just want to ask you what program do you use to make those printables?
Thank you

Hey Becky, I love your blog. There are always great tips and I love that you focus on timesaving! When you are freezing items for quick prep so you just put them in ziploc bags and freeze or do you blanch some things, like the squash, before freezing. I was planning on doing this with squash from our garden because we’re kind of sick of eating it at this point and don’t want to waste it but I was reading that you have to blanch it first. Have you had any problems just freezing it if that is your method?

Post authorThanks Carrie! If I’m doing squash (like a butternut squash) I will either fully cook it, blend it, and add seasonings OR you can also chunk it up and freeze it and then boil it and blend it when you are ready to cook with it. For zucchini I just grate it up or food process and put it in the freezer. Hope this helps!
