Today I’m going to share my favorite homemade dressing recipe with you – it’s super simple to whip up in a snap and oh-so good. You can make it a little thicker for a veggie dip or thinner for a salad dressing. It’s especially delicious on a chicken taco salad. And the great thing about it is that most of the ingredients are in your pantry or spice cabinet.
Feel free to adjust ingredients for your taste and family size – this recipe is about 8 servings.
1 cup plain yogurt, light or regular sour cream
1/2 cup light or regular mayonnaise
1 tsp. dehydrated minced garlic (or fresh – dry is just easier)
1/2 tsp. each – dry parsley flakes, freeze dried chives, garlic salt, and dill weed
Mix, test for seasoning, and enjoy. I like to mix the dressing up in Ball jar so I can put the leftovers straight in the ‘fridge. Sidenote: I only use Penzeys spices – they are so great and taste like fresh when you cook with them.

Pinning this recipe! It has to be so much better than artificial everything that comes in a plastic bottle from the grocery store. Thanks!

If using fresh garlic instead of dehydrated, how much do you recommend?

I tried this last night using lite sour cream and it was delicious! Do you just add water if you want to thin it for salads?
Clean Mama Says...
I use a splash of skim milk to thin – so glad you liked it!

I use a similar recipe but I have washed out an old squeeze bottle from a store bought dressing to use with my recipe.
