The first kit I always put together before summer is a park and stroller kit. I keep it in the mudroom so it’s easy to grab and go for a quick evening walk or trip to the park. This is a simple concept and you probably have most of these items in your home already, but taking a couple minutes to organize the items in one place will be a time saver this summer.
Collect what you have at home or purchase items that you and your family might need for a walk or trip to the park or in an emergency – wipes, a hand towel to wipe off slides and swings, wound care, sunscreen, bandages and cotton swabs, and a tote to keep it all in.
Place your essential items in a bag and put it where it’ll be handy and easily accessible – get ready for summer fun!

Great idea! I especially like the towel for wiping off slides! Something that is always needed, but not top of mind for me until I really need it!

I was going to say the same thing! I keep sunscreen, a mini first aid kit, etc. in my daughter’s diaper bag but never thought about including a small towel. Such a simple yet great idea!

Love this idea. The wipes & the Wet Ones seem redundant – maybe just one or the other, and also include bottled water or drink pouches. Kids get hot & thirsty fast at the park, and there’s not always a drinking fountain around. This will add to the weight of the bag, so maybe leave them in the car if this is an issue. Cute tote, too! Like the waterproof aspect of it.

Just don’t leave plastic water bottles in the car…this causes cancer better to take it with you as you go out the door 🙂

I wish people would quit believing everything they read on the internet.
Plastic bottles of the type used for packaging commercially marketed drinking water in the U.S. are regulated by the FDA as “food contact substances” and held to the same safety standards as food additives. This means, among other things, that the FDA reviews test data on the safety of the plastics used in disposable water bottles — including the potential for hazardous chemicals to leaching or “migrate” from the plastic into the water — and has thus far established that they pose no significant risk to human health. The water itself is also tested and required to meet basic quality standards similar to those set by the Environmental Protection Agency for public drinking water.
And that’s not internet propaganda, you can find the source of the information in scholarly studies and in published works.
I worked at Walmart for a while, the trucks WATER is shipped on are the same as the trucks paper plates, paper towels and MANY dry groceries. These trucks ARE NOT climate controlled, all of these products came out of the truck QUITE warm on a hot day.

This is such a simple and great idea. I am either trying to cram the diaper bag into the bottom of the stroller or grabbing random things out of it in a rush to get out the door. Having a ready-made tote will definitely save on the time wasted and items forgotten as we’re trying to dash out the door. Since I have an infant, I will also add one diaper in her size and one onesie.

I do the same thing-have my stuff in a thirty one bag. I also include mosquito repellent and napkins. 🙂

I love this idea! I’m definitely going to put a kit like this together since I’m constantly at the park with my baby boy. 🙂

I also think its a good idea to have a blanket and garbage bag. That way we can sit down at the park even if there aren’t benches. And having a garbage bag encourages my kids to clean up our mess and do a little community service and pick up a few pieces of others trash too!
