Saturday Night Fun
Keeping it real….
notice – washer and dryer are both going
hubby’s whites – he started sorting them (gasp) – because it was taking me too long to get to them
and a couple loads of my clothes that have been sitting in the basket all week
I have already folded and put away 3 loads of clothes/towels/whatever at the point of these pictures – so I did clean it up a bit before exposing myself
This is why I TRY to do one load of clothes EVERY SINGLE DAY – if I don’t do that, I get overwhelmed and it piles up all over the place.
Any one else had a busy couple of weeks too?

I know I’m one of the few here in blogland, but I actually prefer to have ONE, huge day of laundry a week! I just set my timer, have a little TV in my laundry room, and I run up and down the stairs in between cleaning the house and power it out! I like the feeling of it being done and not having to do it again for a week – sometimes I do a small load on Fridays, but that’s it! If I did it everyday, it would feel like it never ended. I like to get things over with 🙂 Happy Saturday night!

I need to get a better hand over my laundry.. I’ll get efficient for a day or two, then it languishes again, and my husband is asking when I’m actually going to wash something of his (as opposed to the kids)… or if it’s clean it’s all piled up until I can’t stand it anymore… yeah.. pretty disorganized.. too much stuff going on, and I need to get a schedule… ugh… those poor husbands…

It does my heart good to see that I’m not the only one who gets behind. Thanks for keepin’ it real.

I did a HUGE clean up of my house yesterday, which was AWESOME! It needed it. My hubby has been home a lot this past week, which means not very much cleaning got done. But girl, I have so much laundry to catch up on tomorrow! Glad to see you are normal! LOL 🙂

Or you could just do what I do and that is expect my husband to help with the house work that he helps necessitate. We do the laundry and cooking and dishes and child care and things together. If he came home and complained that his laundry wasn’t done, he’d be entirely in charge of it for a month.
p.s there is nothing wrong with getting behind on a few house keeping items every now and then. Ladies! Give yourselves a break and enjoy life, too! I can’t live in a mess, either, and the tips that Clean Mama shares are great but don’t forget- no one is perfect and don’t kill yourselves trying to be!

Oh, my hubby helps with lots of house work… but I am the laundry-doer 🙂
I just can’t live in a mess – but definitely no perfection here.
Thanks for all your sweet comments!

Doing laundry stinks. 🙁 I’ve changed my method lately though and it seems to be helping. Instead of sorting by color I sort by type of clothing. So I wash all shorts, pants and skirts together, all tops together and then a load of towels with undies and socks. I find it’s easier to fold and put away when I do this. When I pull the shirts out, I immediately put them on hangers and hang them on the door frame until it’s all done and then I put them away. If you use a good detergent and white vinegar as your fabric softener you don’t have to worry about colors fading or bleeding!

Love that idea, Mrs. Jones 🙂
