Spring Cleaning Challenge
Hopefully you’ve been able to tackle a couple spring cleaning tasks this past month, but if you still have an area or two that need work, the Spring Cleaning Challenge is for you! This year I’ve teamed up with 5 amazing bloggers to create a Spring Cleaning Challenge that you get to customize to fit your specific spring cleaning needs. Since no two homes are alike and we each have unique challenges to overcome, we want you to make progress in the areas that will benefit you the most. So this year you get to create your own Spring Cleaning plan, post pictures of your progress on Pinterest, and be entered to win some great prizes for participating!
Here are the Spring Cleaning Challenge details…
1. Make a Spring Cleaning plan.
Does your house need a deep clean? Do you need to streamline your master closet? Do you need to get your paperwork under control? Do you need to organize your kitchen?
Pick the area that needs the most work and tackle it during this challenge. I’d love it if you leave a comment on this blog post telling me what you’re going to tackle as your Spring Cleaning challenge project.
2. Schedule time to tackle your Spring Cleaning project April 8-14.
The official challenge dates are April 8-14, 2013 but you can begin working now. Of course the co-hosts and I want to give you a ton of inspiration throughout the week, so we’ll be giving lots of tips along the way.
3. Take before/after photos and upload them to Pinterest or Hometalk.
We want to see your progress and encourage you along the way! You can blog, instagram, or just take photos as you Spring Clean. Upload the pics to Pinterest or Hometalk and use the #SpringCleaningChallenge hashtag.
Read this tutorial if you need instructions on how to upload photos to Pinterest and read this tutorial for instructions on how to upload to Hometalk.
4. Follow the co-hosts & sponsors to stay motivated and get some amazing cleaning ideas.
The co-hosts and I will be posting about our own projects during the week so make sure to follow along:
5. Speaking of prizes…how about the opportunity to win some!
I’m sure you can tell from the image above that we have some amazing sponsors this year!! And I know you want to win right?
Each of the co-hosts will post details on how you can enter to win one of these great prizes on Monday, April 8 – Sunday, April 14. There will be some easy ways to enter. But here’s a heads up that those of you who actually complete your Spring Cleaning Challenge will have a major advantage! How’s that for some cleaning motivation?!
Alright…who’s in?
Let me know in the comments what area you need to “Spring Clean” the most!!

I have been on crutches the past 8 weeks due to knee surgery and wonderful husband has been able to “surface clean” the house. It is in major need of a deep clean!!!! I will be off of crutches on the 8th and ready to tackle this house! This is my entire house, do you want pictures of each room? Thanks for this awesome incentive (and the prizes!!)

I’ve already been doing a bunch of my Spring Cleaning this week so I’ll have to figure out what I really need motivation to work on – maybe actually getting my carpets cleaned… it’s been SO long (gross, I know) but the thought of having to move furniture and everything else seems so overwhelming to me!
Ashley from The Kitchen-Sink Chronicles Says
I will definitely be taking on my walls and flooring, espeically the carpet. The carpet was new when I moved in a year ago but I haven’t deep cleaned it since then. Yikes! I’m almost afraid to see just how dirty they are!

I like to tackle my garage floor first since my family enters through there everyday. This helps when the doors and window open up to slow the dust and foot traffic. Then I like To do blinds and walls with the carpets being last. Happy Spring cleaning!

I’ll be joining for sure!! My main areas are pretty much my whole house. My father is driving from Michigan to where I live, Florida, to meet his first grandson, so I want my house to sparkle!! Excited for this challenge!

My whole house needs a deep cleaning, but I need to focus on my guest bedroom/craft room and its guest bath. My MIL recently had a stroke, and is recovering, thankfully, but it is very likely that she will need to stay with us for an indefinite period of time in the near future (she’s starting rehab today). I’ve been meaning to make that space more organized, and this seems like an excellent excuse to make some changes, purge a lot of stuff that has wandered in there from other places in the house, and wind up with a pleasant and usable space for her to recuperate.

THE WHOLE HOUSE!!!! Boo!!! We got 2 amazing calls within 1 month of each other to adopt two little girls… Now we have 4 littles ~ 11, 5, 2 & 8 months (all with special needs) ~ our house is a wreck!!! We homeschool, so we are home ALL day long. I’ve bought some of your kits and I refuse to miss out on summer fun because I’m still trying to clean & organize & catch up! Excited to be apart of the challenge!!!!
