The 2021 Quick Clean Home Reset

TASK ONE : 3 BAGS OUT
Gather 3 bags of stuff to get out of the house. Gather junk, trash, anything that can be donated, recycled, tossed and take care of it once and for all. Move quickly, set a timer if you have to – if you’re motivated to clear more than 3 bags, keep going!

TASK TWO : DONATION BIN
Start a donation bin – put it somewhere in your that you can easily access. Anytime you have an item that needs to be donated, toss it in there. Once you fill up the basket, bring it to your favorite donation spot.

TASK THREE : UNSUBSCRIBE
Unsubscribe to junk email and/or junk mail. Try for at least 5 total of either category. Once you’ve completed this simple task, you can be done for the day or work on whittling down your email inbox or go through a stack of mail. Getting a handle on email and mail will help you feel less cluttered and is a great way to start off the week.

TASK FOUR : JUST ONE SURFACE
Clear one surface – this can be a tabletop, a counter, a desk, holiday decor. Clearing one surface can make a huge difference in how you feel and in how a space functions. Do you need to think of a system to keep this clear moving forward?

TASK FIVE : PAPERWORK
Create an IN/OUT basket for incoming and outgoing paperwork. This is a great system to put into place at the beginning of a year – one basket for things that you are dealing with and one basket for things to file or mail. Get creative and use a folder, repurpose a basket, or figure out a better way to deal with your incoming/outgoing paperwork today!

TASK SIX : PLANNING DAY⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Decide on a day of the week to plan your calendar and menu. I like Fridays – I do my menu planning and grocery shopping on this day.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Need a planner?  Head to the Clean Mama Shop for the Homekeeping Planner and other paper products perfect for planning your days.

TASK SEVEN : UTENSIL DRAWER⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Clean out the utensil drawer – empty, wipe clean, put everything back. If there are extras or duplicates you don’t use, donate them.⠀⠀⠀⠀

TASK EIGHT : THE SPICES⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sort through spices – decide on a system for them. Do you want to alphabetize them or divide by sweet and savory? Want to pare it down to the bare minimum? Do some spice sorting and organization today.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

TASK NINE : THE MAKEUP⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Streamline your makeup – keep the best and sort by type/use. Keep eye makeup together, creams together, etc.

TASK TEN : CONTAINING⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Look for 1-2 spaces that could benefit from a bowl or a dish to contain extra items like keys, remotes, tea bags, lip balm and lotion, etc. Add a dish, basket, or a container to keep those items cute and corralled. ⠀⠀
