Update : Start Here
I’ve been blogging since 2009. That means that there’s a lot of content, blog posts, and information in this little corner of cyber space. When a brand new reader hops on the site and is looking for where to go, I am guessing it’s a little confusing and overwhelming. So…I’ve been making some changes behind the scenes in categories and places for readers to go for more information and help.
As I continue to update the site, I’d LOVE to hear from you in the comments or feel free to email me too (becky@cleanmama dot net) – what would you like to hear about from me? If there’s a topic you’re struggling with or something you’re wondering about? Why do you come to Clean Mama? What would you like more of? If you’re new here or just curious about what I’ve been working on, check out the START HERE tab on the blog!

I have purchased a couple of things from you. When I receive offers from you it sounds like it may be something I already purchased. How do I know? Thanks, you do an awesome job!

For me, all of the different kits are confusing. I realize that everyone has different needs and you want to meet those needs as well as you are able. I guess I feel confused as to which kit is best for me. I appreciate all you do for us who are domestically challenged.
MaryJo Donahoe Says
Perhaps a chart showing side by side what’s in each kit…similarly to what software companies do.

Post authorLove that – thank you!

Hi – I’m a fairly new follower of yours. Your ideas have already helped me a lot. IIt may be on your site already, but I didn’t find it. I have a fiberglass tub which has become stained over time. Is there some type of paste I can make which would stay on the stain long enough to make it come clean? Scrubbing at it doesn’t seem to do much. Thanks in advance!
Meghan Says
Try barkeepers friend. I’d buy the powder and make a paste.
Diane Says
Thank you, Meghan – I’ll try that. I do feel I need to make some type of paste; something that will stay on the tub sides for several minutes. All the best to you! 🙂

I use a combination of vinegar and dawn (blue dish soap for greasy pots and pans), mix shake and spray on and sprinkle with baking soda, spread it around if needed and leave a few hours or over night. Then scrub with a brush or scrubber, rinse and see what might need a touchup. Works great on soap scum and more minor stains. I use this regularly in our shower, twice a month or so. Have you tried to bleach it?
Kirsten Says
Great site, love following your posts. One of my biggest challenges is shower doors.

I’m a new follower too. I like your site — good info, clear presentation, but I was disappointed by the shop. $15 for 4 microfiber towels? I can get 24 towels for $9 on amazon. I know you’ll say yours are better quality — that might justify $15 for 24, but $15 for 4 is just outrageous.
Becky Says
Post authorMine are better quality, with a higher polyester/polyamide count. Like anything that’s sold, there are different price points and different qualities. There are a lot of microfiber cloths that are much more expensive than mine. Choose what works for you and your budget 🙂

Respectfully said. 🙂

Outrageous only until you try a higher end microfiber cloth. Cheaper ones dont pick up dirt, they leave smears and don’t last as long.

I am a new follower both on the blog and IG. I absolutely detest cleaning, but it’s a necessity. I’ve been perusing through your blog and have found some great tips and techniques that I’ve already incorporated into my new cleaning routine (it’s my 3rd day following the weekly routine). Love the DIY cleaning products. Just want to say Thank You.

Hi Becky,
I seem to have a lot of trouble cleaning mirrors. There always seems to be bits of fluff left over. I’ve tried different cloths and products. Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi Becky,
I recently scratched a small area of our stainless steel sink and was wondering if there is anything I can use to make the scratches less noticeable (or remove it all together)? This is even more important, as we rent. Thank you.
Becky Says
Post authorHi Karen! There are products that will remove the scratches – you can find them at hardware stores. It’s a sanding pad that you need to use on the surface, but it’s not fool-proof.

Hello Becky
I love your site and have bought several products.
I agree with MaryJo. I have the home keeping society and several of the kits.
There is some overlap in what I have. I comparison chart would be great.
Thanks for your quality products and site.

Hi Becky.
Your site has saved my sanity! You have really nailed keeping a home clean easy! Do you have any tips on how to “fail gracefully” when life gets in the way? For example – preparing the house before leaving for a long weekend without having to do everything in 1 night while in the rush of packing. Thanks for making it easy and passing along your brilliance!
Becky Says
Post authorThank you for your kind words Steph! I have some ideas – I’ll try to put it in a post for you – stay tuned 🙂

When making your DIY Cleaners… Can they sit in the glass spray bottles or do i need to make a new batch everytime I clean?
