Week 4 : Spring Clean in 30
We made it! The Spring Clean In 30 Challenge is complete and hopefully you were able to complete all or some of the challenge. Read on if you’d like to complete this challenge anytime. A Bowl Full of Lemons and I have been making our way through our “Spring Clean in 30″ Challenge! We completed 30 cleaning tasks (each under 30 minutes) and shared daily on Instagram. You can go to @cleanmama and @abowlfulloflemons to see what we spring cleaned. You can still grab the FREE checklist here! And go here to see all the tools I used as well.
Here’s an overview of what we spring cleaned this week:
- Day 22: Clean bathroom counters, sinks, toilets
- Day 23: Wash all bath mats and shower curtains
- Day 24: Dust all hard surfaces
- Day 25: Wash bedding
- Day 26: Wash curtains and drapes
- Day 27: Clean window blinds
- Day 28: Vacuum all floors and stairs
- Day 29: Wash all floors
- Day 30: Deep clean vacuum cleaner
Day 22: Clean bathroom counters, sinks, toilets. Remove everything from counters and wipe thoroughly. Clean the base of your toilets and other areas that might need a little extra attention.
Day 23: Wash all bath mats and shower curtains. My best shower curtain tip? Launder on cold, air dry on low heat and hang them back up to dry when they are barely damp. They’ll finish drying without any wrinkles and look crisp and clean!
Day 24: Dust all hard surfaces – Take the time to tackle spots you might have missed in your weekly dusting. Railings, stair cases, furniture, appliances, shelves, etc. Work quickly and get those dust bunnies!
Day 25: Wash bedding – Wash duvets, comforters, quilts, bed skirts, pillows, mattress pads, etc. Curious about how to wash pillows? Go to this post.
Day 26: Wash curtains and drapes. Check the instructions before laundering – if they are washable, take the time to do that today. I wash on gentle/cold and dry on low heat and then hang up when they are barely damp to keep the wrinkles away and to avoid ironing if possible.
Day 27: Clean window blinds. If you have window blinds you know that they are dust magnets. I use a variety of tools depending on time, but my cordless vacuum cleaner’s brush attachment is typically the quickest way to move through all the windows in my house.
Day 28: Vacuum all floors and stairs – Move furniture if needed, get behind and underneath everything.
Day 29: Wash all floors – check out this post on the best way to clean and care for hard surface floors.
Day 30: Deep clean vacuum cleaner. What a great way to end the challenge! Check out this post for a great how-to on cleaning any vacuum cleaner.
