If you are looking for a safe and natural laundry whitener to replace bleach, Oxygen Whitener is going to be your new best friend. If you aren’t looking for something to replace bleach, you should! It’s safe, natural and poses none of the health hazards and toxicity warnings that you’ll find with bleach. Want to brighten up your whites? Oxygen Whitener will do that for you. Want to pre-treat your laundry without pre-treating it? Add a scoop to each load of laundry.

That might seem like enough reasons to grab a bag and you can just use it for laundry but if you want to get even more out of it you’ll use it all over the home. It’s a cleaning booster and has so many uses besides whitening the laundry!

I am so excited to share that Clean Mama Home now has Oxygen Whitener!

Stay-tuned – more home care products are on their way – yay!
What is it? Clean Mama Home’s Oxygen Whitener uses sodium percarbonate and other earth derived ingredients (sodium carbonate, citric acid, and pure lemon essential oil) these ingredients aid in breaking down hard water minerals to bring back your whites as well as breaking down stains and grunge.
LAUNDRY:

- Add 1 scoop to every load of whites.
- Add 2 scoops for an especially dingy or dirty load.
- For stains, wet fabric with water, sprinkle or make a paste and rub directly into stains. Rinse and launder as usual.
HOME:

- Sprinkle a scoop or two in your toilet, let it sit for a bit, scrub and flush. I keep a mason jar in the bathroom with a scoop (in a cabinet out of the reach of any children). The mason jar and label are available in Clean Mama Home.
- For soap scum and mineral deposits, wet surface, sprinkle with the powder and scrub clean.
- For tile and grout, wet surface, sprinkle and scrub. Rinse and repeat if necessary.
- Mix 1 scoop with a gallon of hot water to mop floors.
- Add 1 scoop to hot water in a carpet machine to shampoo carpets.
Want to give it a try? You can find the new Clean Mama Home Oxygen Whitener here in my shop.

This is a great post! I never knew all the uses for it like in the toilet. I currently have Mrs. Stewart’s Liquid Bluing (although I will be switching to yours when it’s done) & I’m guessing I can use it the same way. Do you know? Thanks for the always helpful information.

Love this ! However I am worried about the essential oils in it. Do you have a version without the fragrance?

Post authorThe lemon helps with the whitening – the scent is unnoticeable in the final rinse.

Could you clarify how large are the scoops you use? (1oz? 2 oz?) I’m wondering how many ounces you use when you say one or two scoops in your recipes. Thank you so much!

Hello-
In a front loading washer do you need to put it in the dispenser for presoak or directly into the drum with powder detergent? Do I need to use the presoak cycle? I’ve been using the Molly’s Suds version, but it doesn’t whiten that well. I also use their powdered detergent.
Thanks!
b r Says...
Post authorYou put it in the drum 🙂

I know you said earlier that it can be used with color loads. Do you use one scoop per load of colors or only if the load is especially dirty (then you would use two scoops, correct?)?
b r Says...
Post authorCorrect!
Kelly Says...
Can it be used in cold water? Is it safe to use on marble?
Jenni Says...
If you were to just use the whitener in laundry, approximately how many loads can you get out of one pack?

Is there a DIY recipe for this? I am working on being zero waste/plastic free and this item comes in a plastic bag. Thanks!
Clean Mama Says...
Post authorThe current packaging has less volume, less waste, and costs less to ship for me and for the customer. It’s also extremely concentrated which has environmental impact as well. Here’s why I use the particular plastic bags in my packaging – these aren’t ‘just plastic bags’. I work with a company that produces them with very little environmental impact, they actually use 70% less waste. Due to the nature of the active ingredients I’m unable to use cardboard or stainless at this time. We also use non-toxic inks and recycled materials in the bags. The plastic is PVC free, plastic #7 (the same as baby bottles), BPA free, it’s recyclable and non-leeching. You can toss the empty bag in your recycling and it will be grouped with other plastic items like jugs, bottles, and canisters and then ground up into tiny pellets called re-grind for a filler or base ingredient in park benches, picnic tables, plastic lumber, etc.

Quick question,
Can you use this to clean other surfaces (beyond the bathroom)? I was looking for a safe alternative to clean/disinfect a glass terrarium….right now I use vinegar and water but I was looking for something a little stronger.
Clean Mama Says...
Post authorIt’s multi-purpose! It will work on your terrarium 🙂
