Winter Scent-Inspired DIY Cleaners
Scent can conjure up feelings and memories with even the slightest scent. In this season of uncertainty, let’s add a little seasonal scent to our cleaners. If you haven’t DIY’d a cleaner, this is the perfect time to try one. If you already DIY your cleaners, let’s create a signature winter scent. Every spray and scrub will give your home that cozy winter scent while you safely clean your home. Everything seen here can be purchased in my shop – keep reading for the links.
I have 3 simple winter scent combinations to share with you – you can choose one scent, try them all or come up with your own signature winter scent.
WINTER SCENT COMBINATIONS
Bergamot + Juniper – use a 2:1 ratio
Sweet Orange + Clove – use a 2:1 ratio
Juniper + Vanilla + Lemon – use equal parts
DIY RECIPES TO WINTER-IZE
ALL-PURPOSE DISINFECTING SPRAY
1 1/4 cups water
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup vodka or rubbing alcohol
15 drops essential oil
PLEASE NOTE: If you want to up the disinfecting power in this spray, use Everclear (95% alcohol) instead of vodka – 1/3 cup water, 1/3 cup white vinegar, 1 cup Everclear, 15 drops essential oil.
GLASS CLEANING SPRAY
1 1/2 cups water
1 1/2 tablespoons rubbing alcohol
3 drops essential oil
NIGHTLY SINK SCRUB
2 cups baking soda
20 drops essential oil
a squirt of castile or dish soap in the sink
BATHROOM SCRUB
2 cups baking soda
20 drops essential oil
a squirt of castile or dish soap if needed to add a little sudsing power
